Recently I've become aware about the threat that plastic shopping bags pose to the environment, and of the worldwide movement against them. I desperately wanted to discard the habit of using plastic bags to carry my shopping home. The problem was to find an alternative that would be priced reasonably and look nice too. This beautiful cotton bag fulfils all my conditions wonderfully. It is durable, easy to clean and the design is very contemporary in its look.

Accessorising

Women just love accessories. Whether its shoes, jewellery or handbags, we just can’t get enough of them. In fact, we may be the most orderly people most of the time, but when it comes to accessories, we are a breed or hoarders. A bag is an essential addition to any outfit. Men always find it hilarious, if a little strange, women always need a bag, and in this bag we seem to have all kinds of things necessary for the most unlikely of situations; our bags are a bit like the bag or all bags, ...

Summer must have’s

It’s just great when there is one key item of the season. Not only is it cheaper than have several pieces to choose from, but it is far more straightforward and you can be almost 100% sure you’ll be on trend whenever you step foot out of the house. This summer, the one ‘must have’ item is the maxi dress. The maxi dress has been around before, but it made a strong comeback last summer. It was a dress that anyone and everyone could wear, no matter your style, size, shape or...

They research into trade practices, create awareness among consumers and inspect and certify products and producers who follow fair, humane and equitable trade practices. The most significant among these organisations is Fairtrade. The definition of “fair trade” which has been accepted internationally is the one agreed to by FINE, a wo...

Eco Shopping Bags

Plastic Shopping Bags - Not Cheap!

Plastic shopping bags are the quintessential symbol of our wasteful ‘disposable’ culture. They are cheap, convenient in the short-term. Once discarded they pollute the world for a long, long time.

The Environment: How we can help save it?

The Environment and Us?

How does an individual help in winning the war against pollution? Not everybody can be a storm-trooper of the Greenpeace variety. Given a choice, we would still wage our own battles quietly and resolutely; but before that we have to have a way to contribute in this mother of all wars.

Fairtrade Mark

What Are Fairtrade Goods?

The FAIRTRADE mark is a consumer label which appears on products as an independent guarantee that disadvantaged producers in the developing world are getting a better deal.
